[Whether it be enjoying a great band, art or partaking in one of Michigan's many summer festivals, there is certainly not a lack of places to go and events to attend in our area. Stay tuned weekly to mybaycity.com. Every Thursday, I'll give you my take on some fun things to do and where my travels might take me!]

So...what's on my agenda for this weekend?? Well, let's see..

I've been wanting to check out the Labadie Scion Summer Nights party held every 2nd Thursday at the Kingfish Restaurant. The weather forecast looks perfect for a deck party riverside. It sounds like my kind of fun to listen to Black Squad Entertainment spin tunes on a beautiful summer night. Starts at 6pm with cars on site, door prizes, drink specials and more.

Friday, July 13th, 2012, may sound spooky, but I believe it will a great night to watch the Cool Cruise 2012 which ends up at Bay Lanes on Euclid Ave. For the route, check out www.coolcruise.net.

Saturday, the cool cars will be lined up in the streets of Downtown Bay City for our viewing pleasure. Always a popular event for auto enthusiasts and this year East Bank Market at Unity Park also promises to have a full show of vendors.

What would summer be without the Auburn Corn Festival? They'll have Cage Fights in the entertainment tent on Thursday, Jedi Mind Trip on Friday and Steel Wheels Band on Saturday. The entertainment tent opens at 3pm and is free to enter until 7pm. For a full schedule of events, visit their website at www.auburncornfest.org.

Oh, and did I mention they'll have corn?

I may swing into two downtown locations Saturday, to listen to some great music. The Graybell Brothers will be playing at 4pm on July 14th and they are worth making a stop at World Cafe to see. Located on the southeast corner of Center and Saginaw St., World Cafe offers a variety of food on the menu to choose from, as well as an artisan bakery.

Talented local musician and Michigan Idol winner,Joey Atchinson will bring his unique musical styling to Populace Coffee located at 1003 Washington Ave., Bay City, MI. Joey goes on at 7pm, don't miss this young musician with great vocals, as well as a great personality!

Also, our friends, Like A Storm who hail from New Zealand, has just finished a tour with Creed and will be playing at the Common Ground Festival in East Lansing, MI this Saturday, July 14th at 6pm. Check them out at www.likeastorm.com.

Although I personally can't make it, I'm there in spirit and if you're in that area, or going to the festival, show them some love from us here in Bay City.

Last, but certainly not least, grab your tickets now for the City Lights Music Festival being held in downtown Grand Rapids, MI, the weekend of August 17-18, 2012. Tickets can be purchased at discounted prices for a limited time.

This affordable outdoor electronic music event, has grown to be one of the major EDM festivals in Michigan. This will be an amazing experience featuring a variety of local and national performers. Look for them on Facebook at City Lights Music Festival or check out www.citylightsfestival.com for more info.

Have a safe and entertaining weekend!
