Emilia Gutierrez
Rotarian Chris Girard and Emilia Gutierrez spoke to Rotary about the evolving role of Do-All Inc. The iconic Bay City organization exists "To create a better quality of life community-wide". Founded in 1973, Do-All has built on a dream of making a better life for people with disabilities.

The evolution of 45 years today sees Do-All moving from sheltered workshops to meaningful community employment. The goal is to help their people belong in their place of employment. "If they are absent we want the other employees to ask where they are and to miss them."

As background, one-quarter of white-collar workers have some form of disability but they are not talking about it. These disabilities may not be apparent, but they take a toll on innovation, productivity, and performance in the workplace. Do-All works with employers to identify changes that make the workplace more inviting and accepting of everyone. Gutierrez related several stories of successful clients that have become important to their employers.

During 2018 Do-All assisted people in obtaining 30 new jobs. They supported 41 people in maintaining their jobs. This resulted in increased financial and emotional stability. Most important, it decreased the use of emergency service.
