MOVIE REVIEW: Hobbs & Shaw

I went to "Fast & Furious Presents: Hobbs & Shaw." Fun! It will never win awards, I don't think, but it was fun. Of course Dwayne Johnson and Jason Statham are certainly easy on the eye.

It opens with a covert operation to steal a virus. Soon you get introduced to Luke Hobbs, played by Johnson, and Deckard Shaw, played by Jason Statham. You see their differences on a split screen. They both get called in to fight the cyber-genetically enhanced villain Brixton, played by Idris Elba (who is also easy on the eye). Brixton is being directed to also get ahold the virus.

It is action packed, full of car chases and fight scenes, but really rather funny. The two main guys play it like they are having fun. They definitely have comedic chemistry.

Watch for Helen Mirren as Shaw's mother. Also keep an eye out for two other uncredited cameos. Watch the credits through the end for some additional scenes.

So go. Have fun. Eat popcorn.
