We saw "Second Act." It was a fun, enjoyable movie. I'm quite certain it won't win any major awards, but I liked it.
Jennifer López is an intelligent woman with a lot of street smarts and life skills. She has been working at her job for over 10 years as an assistant manager. When the manager job opens she applies. Of course, she is turned down because she lacks a college degree.
The job is given to a guy with no experience but of course with a degree. She makes a special birthday wish and her computer genius godson, played by Dalton Harris, decides to help her out by pumping up her resume and getting her a Facebook page. He even applies to jobs for her and finds a perfect fit.
His mother, Joan, is played by Leah Remini. Her boss is played by Treat Williams, her boyfriend by Milo Ventimiglia and the daughter of the boss is played by Vanessa Hudgens. There is very good chemistry between all the actors, especially López and Remini.
You may think you can figure out how this all ends, but there are some twists to the plot you may not see coming.
So go. Have fun. Eat popcorn.
