What a fun movie! We saw "Mama Mia! Here We Go Again."

  • Don't go if you hate to smile.
  • Don't go if you dislike musicals.
  • Don't go if you need a complicated plot.
  • Do go if you enjoy lightheartedness.
  • Do go if you like the story moved along by song.
  • Do go if you enjoy the fun.

The story revolves around Donna's (Meryl Streep) daughter Sophie (Amanda Seyfried).

Sophie is attempting to have a grand opening of her mother's dream, a resort hotel.

In the story, Donna has passed away the previous year. You aren't made privy as to what happened.

Sophie's stepfather Sam (Pierce Brisbane) is helping her. Of course, the whole gang shows up. Harry (Colin Firth), Bill (Stellan Skarsgard), Rosie (Julie Walters) and Tanya (Christine Baranski). They are also all played as younger versions of themselves showing how their lives became intertwined with a young Donna played by Lily James.

It was so nice to see how Donna met Sophie's three fathers. (If you don't know what I'm talking about watch the first "Mama Mia!"). Donna's mother played by Cher also makes an appearance and it's great.

But it is not the only reason to see the movie. The countryside is gorgeous. The music, which again, is all ABBA is beautiful.

The plot moves along just fine. Despite the plot going back and forth between now and when Donna was young, it is not confusing.

So go. Have fun. Eat popcorn.
