During the upcoming Thanksgiving holiday, hundreds of people here in the Bay Area will wake up hungry, homeless and hurting.
The Good Samaritan Rescue Mission here in Bay City is planning and preparing for the upcoming Thanksgiving Holiday. This fall, the mission is expecting to serve more then 10,750 meals to hungry, homeless, hurting men, women and children who will come to the Mission from all over the Bay Area.
Times continue to be tough and there are more hurting people in our community then ever. For many the nutritious meals they get at GSRM may be the only decent food they've had in days.
Cooks at the mission are busily planning menus including, a traditional feats of roast turkey, dressing, mashed potatoes with gravy and a big slice of pie.
Daniel Streeter, Mission Director, said, "Even more important we want to "feed" our guests a helping of life-transforming hope. We want to offer them the caring support and proven programs that will help them turn their lives around for good."
This Thanksgiving season consider making a donation for a Thanksgiving Celebration held on November 24, 2011.
Did you know just $1.95 would pay for one Thanksgiving meal. $15.60 would help feed 8 people. $31.20 would have feed 16 people.
