Sports has always been and
continues to be a vital component of both the recreational and social scene in Bay County. Over the decades, thousands upon thousands of athletes, both men and women, have competed on the courts and playing surfaces of our great county.
During the past 19 years 158 individuals, and 27 teams have been inducted. An additional 9 plus the 1976 Bay City Central Girls' Softball State Champions and Breen's Sporting Goods 1978 (Class D) & 1979 (Class C) Men's Fast pitch Softball State Champs were enshrined this year. And many other deserving candidates wait in the wings for their moment of recognition.
This year's inductees are typical examples of the kind of loving dedication that so many have given to sports in Bay County. They have all played their game well. They have competed on the highest levels. They have dedicated a large portion of their life, even their very existence, to the sport that they love.
Inducted into the Bay County Sports Hall of Fame on Sunday, October 10, 1020 were Nine Individual Inductees, Three Teams, also six High School Scholarship Recipients were honored.
