Holiday shoppers know about Black Friday and Cyber Monday, but now there's "Artists Wednesday."
With no need to camp out at midnight and no fear of computers crashing, buyers will actually enjoy shopping at the annual artist market at the Marshall Fredericks Sculpture Museum. On December 12, twelve Michigan artists will be on hand at the Museum's gift shop to sell their original works of art. This year's artist market runs from 12:00 - 5:00 p.m.
Artists include Lon Baker, turned wood vessels, Midland; George Bochnig, glass ornaments and other one-of-a-kind pieces, Pontiac; Sara Clark, ceramics, Saginaw; Rosita Gendernalik, decorative pottery, Indian River; Penny Knapp, ceramics, Bay City; Gayle Krause, ceramics, Bay City; Pat Laboda, jewelry, Bay City; Rebecca Maillette, jewelry, Bay City; Dominic Pangborn, silk scarves and ties, Detroit; Richard Payne, greeting cards, Bay City; and Sylvia Walworth, hand woven cotton and wool scarves, East Port. Artwork item pricing begins at $4.99.
In addition to this unique holiday shopping experience, guests will also have the opportunity to view the Museum exhibition, Memories of WW II, Photographs from the Archives of the Associated Press.
