Bay City Players will mark the tenth anniversary of the September 11, 2001 tragedy at the World Trade Center with a gift to the community.
PORTRAITS will be performed September 10 and 11 on stage as a respectful tribute to lives lost and lives changed forever by this infamous event. Admission is free, but reserved seat tickets may be picked up at the box office September 6, 7, and 8, 2011 at 7:00 to 9:00 PM.
PORTRAITS takes a sensitive look at events through six characters who come to vibrant life in an artist's studio in lower Manhattan. Each was witness to the events of September 11. Each haunts the imagination of an artist trying to bring life to each character and order to her own life. The artist is inspired by Picasso's masterpiece "Guernica" to weave the moving stories of these six into a commemorative portrait. New Yorker: "A powerful reminder of why theatre matters."
Bay City Players is located at 1214 Columbus Avenue. Complimentary tickets need not be reserved in advance, but may be picked up as available the night of performance. (Due to the mature subject matter of PORTRAITS parental judgment is advised regarding children.)
