Doubletree Hosts 9th Annual Diamond and Roses Gala
1920s Theme of Jazz & Dance is Huge Success

The 9th annual Diamond and Roses Event was held on Saturday, January 29, 2011 at the Grand-ball Room at the Doubletree hotel in Bay City.
The dedication and hard work of the Diamond & Roses event committee helped make 2011 one of the finest fund raising events in the area.
The 1920s was the theme of the night, with plenty of entertainment including the Central Michigan University Jazz Combo, Danscene Competitive Edge, (A dance company at Perry Woodard School of Dance) also the Garber Jazz Express and last but not least the famous Sinclairs Band which includes, Dennis Beason, Jim Beschoner, Jeff Ott, Andy Scott and Jeff Poirier.
(Left) Rebecca Klemm Kaiser, Communications Development Director was very pleased with the turn out. Kaiser said, "Another successful Diamonds and Roses complete. Thanks to all my volunteers for their help, great people make a great event."
Dinner, dessert and dancing followed by a silent auction and live action. Winner of the Diamond Raffle went to Steve Schabel.
Chuck Brooks, Executive Director of the Bay Area Family Y, said, "As we anticipate the grand opening of the new Dow Bay Area Family Y facility and all of the excitement that will bring, it becomes even more important to make sure we continue to support the on-going operations and mission of our organization."
Proceeds from the fundraiser to benefit the Strong Kids Scholarship, Bay Area Family Y.
Committee and Board Member Magen Trask, said, "This truly was a wonderful night, to support the Strong Kids Scholarship Program."
(Above) Judy Dacey and David Flucke are all decked out in the theme of the 20's. Flucke said, he is a active member of the Y and is looking forward to the new building. Dacey said, her outfit was from one of her dances during a Perry Woodrow's Dance Recital.
