MOVIE REVIEW: "Doctor Sleep"

By: Kathy Rupert-Mathews

"Doctor Sleep" was very, very good.

Stephen King wrote that novel as a sequel to his book "The Shining."

It takes place many decades after the first. "Doctor Sleep" follows King's book pretty well. However because many people are more familiar with Stanley Kubrick's movie rendition of "The Shining, the movie had to have aspects of that movie. I thoroughly enjoyed it and would see it again.

Ewan McGregor did an excellent job as Danny Torrence.

He is Doctor Sleep.

A brand new actress, Kyliegh Curran in only her second performance, was amazing.

In the movie, they both have "the shine" which is a psychic gift. They use it to try and defeat a cult called The True Knot.

The movie is "R" rated for gore mostly, I believe.

So go. Have fun. Eat popcorn.
