February 3, 2018
By: Josh Sharrow

Sibling partners and new co-operators of the Modern Craft Tasting Room in City Market are Josh Sharrow and Rachelle Ranville of Bay City.

With a rebel spirit that continues to gain ground, Modern Craft - A different kind of wine ® announces the opening of its sixth location inside City Market in Downtown Bay City as the first wine tasting room in Bay County. Loyal fans and newcomers alike can look to enjoy the unique Modern Craft "Mixperience" an untraditional and unforgettable wine tasting inside City Market, along with a slew of signature opportunities in the works from Modern Craft soaps to salad dressings made possible through partnerships with market vendors.

"We're honored to have this exciting location in Bay City within City Market and by all the possibilities," says Tom Nixon, owner of Modern Craft Wine. "Each tasting room is independently operated, and Josh and Rachelle's entrepreneurial vision and creativity are perfect for bringing Modern Craft style and good times to Bay City."

Sibling partners and new co-operators of the Modern Craft Tasting Room in City Market, Josh Sharrow and Rachelle Ranville of Bay City were first wooed by a Modern Craft "Mixperience" they enjoyed in West Branch. The brother-and-sister-team fell for Modern Craft's fruit-infused wine flavors and unconventional style of wine enjoyment.

"I'm the kind of guy who wears jeans to the chamber of commerce function," says Sharrow. "If Modern Craft was a person instead of a bottle of wine, it'd wear jeans, too. We're a good fit."

"We recognized a need for wine tasting in Bay City," says Ranville. "And saw an opportunity with Modern Craft and with City Market to make it possible. We're grateful and excited."

Bringing anything-but-routine wine tasting adventures to their hometown of Bay City, Sharrow and Ranville look forward to welcoming any and all to a mid- to late-February grand opening celebration of the first wine tasting room in Bay County at City Market. With acoustic music, plentiful food, giveaways and steep wine discounts, the official date and further details will be released via Modern Craft Wine's Facebook page and website.

Owned by Melissa and Tom Nixon, Michigan-based Modern Craft Wine is available now at six Modern Craft tasting rooms, retailers statewide, and through online purchase.
