Optimist's Unsung Heroes 2017
Last Tuesday Rotarians joined Bay City Optimists as that club honored their 2017 class of "Unsung Heroes" at the Doubletree.
The Speaker was Branden Minuth, an Optimist and a Merrill Lynch Financial Adviser. Branden is an ex Seal-team soldier and talked about his experiences. Telling the story of a parachute jump where his main chute did not open, he noted that his reserve chute saved him at the last minute. Those chutes are packed by specialists who attach their name to every one they pack. Branden told the young people about to be honored to always remember and thank the people in their lives who pack their backup chutes.
Brief bios were read for each award winner along with the reason they were honored followed by the presentation of their certificate.
CLUB NEWS and ANNOUNCEMENTS
The club held its monthly board meeting prior to the joint luncheon with the Optimist Club. Details from that meeting will be shared at next week's meeting.
