"Thwap, thwap, thwap".

The sound of music to my Spring-loving ears.

It finally happened! After months of snow, cold, socks, boots and general encasing of the tootsies to keep them warm and toasty, the flip-flops have come out.

The general happiness this brings may be a little premature as the furnace has not been completely shut down, but the mild days we have enjoyed that I can bare my toes is measurable in my happy little step.

Little things like blooming tulips, hand washing the car, open windows, storing the snow shovel, green grass and breaking out the cheap flip-flops to schlep around in, help us remember that the dog days of summer are not far away.

Soon, my block will be filled with children's laughter enjoying their school vacation. The picnics, festivals and outdoor concerts will make their way into my weekly schedule. The smell of the neighbor's grill will waft into my home making my mouth water. Bicycles and their happy riders will provide a constant stream of life in motion across my living room bay window.

Ah, Spring. How I love you so.

I do believe I am ready to conquer the season...thwap, thwap, thwap.
