This isn't a picture of my house, these people have problems.
Organizing Chaos

When did I accumulate so much stuff?
We moved into our cozy 1,000 square feet home about 7 years ago with, honestly, one Ford Excursion full of stuff. In order for us to move today it would take a whole lot more than 2 men and a truck.
My approach to organization is to put it in a cupboard so no one can see it when they come over. That plan is fine if you never open the cupboards again. If you come to my house and open a cupboard, it's your fault, I warned you.
I also cannot handle anything being left out on the counter tops except the coffee pot. To be honest, If I could find a place to stuff that, it wouldn't be on the counter either.
My wife's approach to organization is to buy baskets. Fill the baskets with random stuff, and feel organized. Then we have 10 baskets around the house filled with random nonsense that I believe should just be shoved in a cupboard somewhere.
Most column writers would turn this into de-cluttering their mind and life, that's not where I'm going, don't get ahead of me.
When I find more than 1 thing out of place, I feel like I'm on an episode of Hoarders. My goal is to just throw stuff away. I don't need it, and I sure don't want to give my wife an excuse to put it in a basket somewhere.
