It really is the age old question.
Where did you hear about us? When businesses ask this question I feel like it's a total waste of time.
I'll make up a fake company to give you a perfect example.
Bob's Bubble Shop did a mass advertising campaign.
Bob purchased banner ads, radio advertising, TV spots, and newspaper ads.
Bob doesn't seem to think that his banner ads worked for him. Bob asked every customer who came to his business, "How did you hear about us?" No one said Banner Ads.
The customer . . . we'll call her Sally, woke up this morning and heard about Bob's Bubble Shop while watching the morning news. Sally got in her car and drove to work, while listening to her favorite radio station, Sally heard Bob's radio commercial. While at work Sally visited her favorite website, meanwhile seeing one of Bob's fancy little banner ads! Sally went to the bathroom and while sitting on the toilet, she saw Bob's logo on the toilet paper!
Sally has had enough! Sally just HAS to see what Bob's Bubble Shop is all about. Sally gets in her car, drives down the road of course passing a Bob's Bubble Shop billboard on I-75.
Sally arrives at Bob's Bubble shop and spends roughly $500 on bubbles! Bob was so happy she showed up, he asked her, "How did you hear about us?"
Sally responded
"I saw your billboard!" Well Bob thought, the billboards must be working!
Is that
REALLY how Sally heard about Bob's Bubble Shop?
