Rob Bliss is sweeping across Michigan with a video cam in an "Imported From Detroit" Chrysler and will be in the Tri-City area Monday.
Crews are due Monday in Midland about 1:45 p.m., Bay City at 2:45 p.m., Saginaw about 4 p.m. and Frankenmuth at 5:30 p.m.
The 3.5 minute video will be released on the Internet Sept. 5 and is aimed at raising awareness about the glories of Michigan for prospective residents and businesses.
So, who is Rob Bliss? He is a 23 year old creative advertising entrepreneur. From one video about Grand Rapids that has gone viral on the net, Bliss has launched a career in advertising, marketing and journalism.
Rob is most known for creating the Grand Rapids LipDub video, seen by tens of millions of people worldwide. His multiple viral videos have been featured by just about every major media organization you can list. He's a co-founder of Status Creative, a brand awareness firm that brings large-scale attention to people/products/places in highly unique, creative ways.
What can you do in one week? Jeff Barrett and Rob Bliss -- two ordinary Michigan-born men -- are about to embark on an extraordinary road trip through the state to answer that question. The goal will be to create an energetic digital video that highlights various things the state has to offer. The video will serve as a way to help tell the story of Michigan as a great place to live, work, play and build a business.
Barrett and Bliss' firm Status Creative will be filming all across Michigan during the week-long road trip. This is the same firm behind last year's Grand Rapids LipDub - national winner for Best Use Of Video in Social Media from PRNewswire.
Barrett and Bliss will be highlighting some of the people, businesses, events and natural beauty that make Michigan unique. The journey will begin on Sunday, August 19th and conclude a week later on the 26th of August.
The Grand Rapids video featured "Bye, Bye Miss American Pie" by Don McLean. For this new video, the song is "Good Time," by Carly Rae Jepsen.
The general public is welcome and encouraged to participate in these filmed events as Barrett and Bliss come to their city. Those curious about what events will be happening near them can visit the Interactive Map at http://www.michigan.org/blog/events.
Here are a few other upcoming public participation dates:
Flint: 7 p.m. - 519 South Saginaw Street
