Elvis fans from all over Michigan celebrated the 2nd Michigan Elvis Day at the State Theater in Bay City on Saturday, August 20, 2011.
The celebration featured tribute artist JAKE SLATER (RIGHT) with the Josh Ramses Band in a tribute entitled "I'll Remember You - A Concert for the King.'
It was a SOLD OUT show. Elvis fans 'floor to ceiling.' The concert benefit was to Few Step from Home Animal Rescue in Bay City.
Mike Bacigalupo, Executive Director of the State Theater said, "This was one of the best Elvis Tribute Artists (ETA) Shows I have ever seen and had the pleasure to work with.
The sold out crowd was into every song from beginning to end and left wanting more!"
Jake Slater hails from nearby Saginaw but has called Bellaire in northern Michigan home for the last 6 years. Slater is an national and international award-winning Elvis Tribute Artist performing all eras of the King's career. At only 19 years old, he has quickly become one of Michigan's most sought-after ETAs.
Jake won the 3rd annual Saginaw King Fest competition and is now the King of Saginaw! He has the distinction of being the only Elvis tribute artist to have won both the early years (2009) and the concert years (2011) at this competition.
The concert was presented by The Michigan Elvis Presley Fan Club which is dedicated to positively promoting Elvis Presley, his artistic contributions, and his values. Co-founders, Scott & Jennifer Thede.
