With fall right around the corner, Downtown Bay City, Michigan, is celebrating its arrival with Arts in Autumn, September 23, 24 and 25. This event brings a variety of artwork from throughout the Bay area right into our very cool Downtown district.
The artwork on display will include delightful chalk drawings created throughout our Downtown sidewalks by over one hundred local fifth grade students. Plus, over 60 panels of artwork by local high school students will be displayed on lamp posts along the Downtown streets.
Each will highlight this year's theme, "Colors of Autumn." Placing professional artists in Downtown businesses was added to last year's event with great success and will continue again this year. Each artistwill be partnered with a participating business.
Their artwork will be exhibited Thursday through Saturday with the artists located on-site for the "Gallery Hop" on Saturday afternoon, September 25, from noon to 4:00. This is a great way tomeet the artists and perhaps purchase some one of a kind artwork.
Participating businesses include: A&J Galleries, Americana Co. Antique Mall, Atrium, Bay Antique Center, Bay City Antiques Center, C'est Tres Chic, Desta May's, Euc. Gallery, Garden of Art, Girlfriends, GT Homestead/Gathered Traditions, Hen in the Holly, Herman Hiss, Herter Music Center, MeadowCreek Clothiers, Memory Lane, Nielsen Gallery, Pepper Tree Place, Sempliner's, Simmons Jewelers, The Columns, The Store @ Studio 23, TheDancer's Shoppe, The Sweet Boutique, Three French Hens, Violets Blue, Ward Studio Gallery and Water Front Market.
Arts in Autumn is a cooperative effort of Downtown Bay City, the Bay Arts Council and various local schools. For more information regarding the 3rd Annual Arts in Autumn, contact Candace Bales or Brandi Cramer at (989) 893-3573.
