What better way to spend Independence Day, then at an all American baseball game at the Dow Diamond home of the Great Lakes Loons in Midland, Michigan.
The Great Lakes Loons were back in town for an Independence Day game at
3:05pm, July 4, 2010 against the South Bend Silverhawks.
The days attendance was 4,113, with temperatures in the 90's. (Total attendance for the season 117,722.)
The Loons scored 6 runs on eleven hits including a grand slam in the 3rd inning being the highlight of the game.
Final score 6-0! Loons win!
Seems I spent more time looking at/for the team's mascot then the actual game itself. Probably took 50 pictures of Lou E. Loon. There is something about Lou E that is just Adorable !!!!
I was probably more excited then the kids to see Lou E.
The Great Lakes Loons Shut out the South Bend Silverhawks. Score was 6-0

Julie,
I used to think the Loon was creepy.
After your column and pictures, I think I like him. Maybe I'll go see a Loons game later this year.
