In 1992, while members of the Men's Glee Club at Michigan State University, Paul, Chuck, Mark and Glenn humbly formed a singing group expecting to sing only one song in a glee club concert. Now, over 16 years later, these guys continue to find success together. They have shared the stage with American legends like Chuck Berry, Dionne Warwick, Bob Newhart, Peter Cetera, Pat Boone, Lee Greenwood and The Beach Boys.
Three Men and a Tenor has performed in nearly 1000 schools over the last
14 years, stressing to over one million young people across America the importance of following dreams.
The group has been featured guests on over 80 national radio and television stations and in 2003, starred in their very own PBS-TV music concert special, that was broadcasted on over 70 national PBS Stations, in markets like Nashville, Miami, Las Vegas, Los Angeles, Philadelphia and Seattle. The 'Three Men and a Tenor' PBS show won an Emmy for best live camera shots.
Most recently, the guys showcased in front of 3,000 tourism and convention bureau directors from across the country at the National Tour Association Conference at Cobo Hall in Detroit, spurring leads for work in almost every state in America!
Some of the group's greatest experiences have been during 2 tours of the U.S. Military bases in Germany in 2004 and 2006. The group performed 23 shows in 2004, and 38 performances in 2006, and made 2 special guest performances at Landstuhl Hospital in Ramstein. The group was allowed to travel the hospital floors to sing for the soldiers that were hospitalized after being wounded on the front lines of battle in Iraq and Afghanistan.
For both tours, the group received generous corporate support, first from General Motors (GM), and then from the Daimler-Chrysler Corporation Fund.
The 2006 tour was also co-presented by the Downtown YMCA of Lansing. It was the perfect partnership to boost the morale of the families of our troops overseas. Due to overwhelming request, the group will return in May 2010 to do the tour again, but this time seven different bases will be involved, and even the German citizens will receive a 'Three Men and a Tenor' concert at the Castle Borbeck in Essen, Germany.
'Three Men and a Tenor' is a remarkable symbol of what is possible if you love what you do. This talented vocal-music foursome made a pact early on to keep the entertainment fun for all ages and to always make an effort to help audiences leave feeling better than when they came.
More than just a music group, the guys from 3MT represent just what America needs right now- a group of guys that help us remember our sense of family and fun!
